Se7en opening credits
Sound analysis..
Most of the sound in the opening sequence is non-diagetic as the sounds are not coming from what we see in the picture. The minor sound effects give an unknowing feel towards the film and makes the audience feel wary about watching it as soon as they hear this. This is because it makes you feel worried about what may pop up or scare you on the screen.
The high pitched sceetches capture the audience to focus on the screen because it creates tension and an atmosphere around you. The distorted sounds give an uneasy feel towards it.
In the clip there is a diagetic sound when you here swaying and we see something doing just that as a shaddow. Random sounds have been added for effect for the audience to try and guess what is going on in the clip. One of these sounds is of a walkitalki to represent police talking through them. These sounds are repeated to give a constant feel of things still going on.
As the opening scene moves it the sound becomes more upbeat and speeds up this is to make the audience want to see what is going to happen next, it builds a climax and keeps the audience watching. It also shows things are coming together to give a result.
At the end of it is has a voice clip that says 'you got me closer to God', this could give a reference to religion as most horror films are related to it, and it is the only dialogue in the clip which will leave the audience remembering that part the most. It also relates to someone cutting out the word God at then end too.
